Dear Phil Jones,

The homogenisation of the Bergen temp. series is now completed since 
1876. Some adjustments are applied to the data.  

Our intention have not been to remove urban heat island effects. However, 
these are not too large. Compared to a group of rural stations (two 
lighthouse stations also included), the series seems to be biased about 0.2 
deg. in the time interval 1876 - 1995.

Before 1876 Birkeland's homogenisation of the series is maintained.

The whole series follows in a separated file in the "standard NACD-format".
