Note that GISP2 data are based on deuterium measurements (instead of oxygen-18) - this make the variability increase by a factor of 8 - but the signal should be the same. In general the more southerly cores experience higher annual accumulation rates and therefore have the better signal to noise ratios. Looking forward to hearing about what you find in the data....
