Thanks also for pointing out where to find the CO2 concentration plot, that's quite logical really ! I ran your model again a little while ago and I see you've added some more peculiar emissions options (some of which exhibit classic "hunting" behaviour as they try to fit) but none that looks quite like my auto-regressively converging version. Did you try that ever?? (I think it should be rather well-behaved, though it will only ever get you to approximately where you said you wanted to be) I also got Peter Challoner to have a look, and we rather think that your Java model could be a better choice for embedding in our Tyndall Centre uncertainty evaluation project than MAGICC.... So we'd very much like to talk to you about whether you'd let us have access to the code, and on what basis you would wish to be involved (how about some sort of paid consultancy arrangement, if you don't fancy being anyone's employee, it worked for Lovelock, it could work for you ??!!). So if you could come to see us in September, that'd be excellent. The infeasible dates for me are now 6-7, 12-14, 21, and 26-28, so not much change there. 2-3 Oct is also out, I'm afraid. Can you work around that at all ?? Hope to see you soon John At 01:39 20/08/01 +0200, you wrote: >Dear John, > >Now back in GRID Arendal, Norway, >We try to make something together for COP7, it's an experiment to see if it >works. > >Had some good discussions during my "european tour", >IGBP conference, COP6.5 Bonn, Potsdam Institute, Bern Institute, and others, >particularly with John Schellnhuber about "geocybernetics" and "hyberspace", >and Fortunat Joos about the carbon models, >I hope something may come out of it. > >Also the "Brazilian proposal" re-emerged in Bonn, regarding responsibility >for temperature rise >which may give us an excuse to bring science models into the policy process. > >I was planning to visit UK briefly in September, including perhaps to visit >you in SOC. >Now I also ponder attending IPCC plenary in London, which makes it the end >of September. >I wonder how that fits, you wrote before: >>> OK, I shall be away 12-14 and 26-28th, otherwise any time should be OK, >does that still apply? > >Best regards, > >Ben > >>======================< >Dr Ben Matthews >ben@chooseclimate.org > >please try java climate model >www.chooseclimate.org/jcm/ >>======================< > >
