Concerning the second call, the nov. 18 version of the work programme mention indicative topics for for STREPs, NoE and IP and I still hope that our national representatives will continue to make pressure for having "past climate and dynamics" appearing again in the second call. As you mention one of the positive point is that we have time to discuss how we shall go forward for DOCC or something else about the subject. It is probably a good time now to think about the best project we can propose linking the fundamental aspects of the dynamics of past climate and the contribution of the past to better climate change prediction. For instance why not to invite scientific expertises of times in the past with CO2 levels and temperatures close to what is expected in the next century (like 500 ppmv and + 2-3°C)? For your information Heinz Miller, which is the coordinator of the project ICES (paleo project on continental ice proposed for submission in the frame of the 6th PCRDT), is thinking to organize a workshop to discuss the future of ICES. I think that Heinz would like to have representatives outside of the glaciology community at this workshop. Best wishes and thank you for your efforts of coordination Dominique >Dear friends, > >I assume many of you have followed the development of the work >programme for FP6, which have been quite dramatic at times for our >field.
