After you supply it, I will tell you why. Okay, here it goes. In the Mann et al. (1999) paper, the NH temperature reconstruction was extended back to AD 1000 by using a subset of longer proxies that extended back that far. For US$1,000,000 or L650,000 (I don't have the proper font for the pound symbol), how many series were used to extend the Mann et al. (1999) reconstruction back to AD 1000.
