So far, I've heard only indirectly from Bond (by cc in a message to you) that he intends to write a paper for "The Holocene". I've discussed the special issue with Peter deMenocal because he is a "coordinator" with me for the ocean people. Peter has not heard from anyone, either, including Bond. My understanding is that you have not requested individual papers, but rather something more coordinated. As I said in my last email, I thought what I sent to Dominique was a nice consensus document, and that it could be the basis for something more substantive. But I have no idea what Dominique has done with it. If we merely expand what Dominique has, it will be a good overview, but probably nothing new. On the other hand, if authors submit individual papers, that lets Peter and me off the hook. I could write something short on the evidence, or lack thereof, for late Holocene THC change on the Laurentian Fan. Frankly, I would find that easier and more professionally rewarding than browbeating my colleagues into contributing to a larger consensus paper, and other contributors might agree. As soon as someone like Bond goes it alone, then the whole fabric begins to unravel. Under the circumstances, I haven't a clue when we will have something to send you, and what form it will be. Let me know what you think about this. Sincerely, Lloyd Lloyd D. Keigwin (Lkeigwin@whoi.edu) McLean Lab., m/s 8 Woods Hole Oceanographic Inst. 360 Woods Hole Rd.
