The director of SM Lindsay Sharp sees involvement as most effective when it is focussed on real issues, which in the UK is probably coastal defence/retreat and sea level rise. Temp. health and pollution are equally important. To organise such an excange forum even at the lowest level requires funds , which we would hope to raise from gov and industry. It is proposed to call a meeting of the range of organisations -up to about 50 for an exploratory mtg at the SM at 5-730 pm on wed sept19.A letter will go out from the SM .I hope this idea has your blessing as we had discussed it before. I hope that the Tyndall Centre will help take a lead in this venture -we discussed its importance today, and appreciated the visit of TC to John Teather at the BBC recently. We will be seeing WWF on Friday and explaining the concept to them; they were one of the organisations who supported the original idea. I look fporward to any reactions, julian hunt
