I am sorry that you cannot be in Geneva. It will be an important discussion. We are involved in a lot more than global mapping in the SoDa project. We cross link spatial and time series approaches. We provide user friendly solar applications tool boxes too. My attachment sent to UNESCO, which you presumably have, will enable you to access our SoDA site. I attach the document again in case you do not have it. The European Solar Radiation Atlas is another very relevent document, again referenced in my UNESCO document. The climate change issue is also important. I spend some of my time working with the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change in the Northern Branch, Tyndall North at UMIST, Manchester. Our SoDa project leader Lucien Wald is a Professor in the Ecole des Mines de Paris. While he works in Sophia Antipolis, he is often in Paris. I think you should try to meet with him as an issue of urgency. There is clearly a very strong overlap between your planned mapping activity and our existing activity. I think you may find we are already well on the way towards meeting many of your goals. I am self funded and there is a limit to the number of meetings that I can attend out of my limited personal resources. However I am noting down the dates of the Paris meeting in case some way can be found for my personal participation by funding my travel expenses.
