The revised Figure 4 corrects one bad mistake I made. I should have removed the Tarussov curve and you spotted that, so thanks very much. I'm cc'ing this to Mike, as it up to him re Figure 8. Is there a date he has to do this by? Also when might the proofs come? Does this depend on the Figures? As for the two comments this time. (2) I've reattached the excerpt from the glossary for Mike to see. As far as I'm concerned this is fine. In many respects it looks better than the Table format we had it in. (1) The text should read 'Winters are dated by the year of the January and smoothing uses a 30-year Gaussian filter', so just add an s to Winter. I have one sentence to add in the acknowledgements. It can go as the penultimate sentence, before M.E.M acknowledges.. Sentence is P.D.J. also acknowledges the Climate Change Detection and Attribution Project, a jointly funded effort by NOAA's Office of Global Programs and the Department of Energy's Office of Biological and Environmental Research. I know this is similar to the one already there for me, but I get two of lots of support for the work. Thanks again for your thorough proof reading. I've only experienced such excellent proof reading once before and that was for a paper in Reviews of Geophysics in 1999. I know I probably shouldn't ask, but was our paper good, bad or middling with respect to the time it took you to go through it? Cheers Phil At 09:32 17/03/2004 -0500, you wrote: Dear Dr. Jones, Sorry for the delay in responding. I was out of the office yesterday. Thank you for your help with my questions. I will go over them in more detail later. However, I wanted to reply to two items that I noticed. (1) Is there a word/s missing in the following? You replied "OK." OK as is? Or yes there is missing text? "Winter are dated by the year of the January and smoothing uses a 30-year Gaussian filter." (2) The glossary will not be in table format. I have attached an excerpt so that you can see the format we use. I received all parts of revised Figure 4. Thanks. Revised Figure 8 is still outstanding. As soon as that arrives (when Dr. Mann returns?), the Image Center will evaluate and size all of the new figures and place them on a checksite for your approval. Best regards, Maria Maria, You have been extremely thorough. I have been through them for the last 3 hours. I have done all bar one. I've sent an email about GKSS - asking what it means. I need to redo Figure 4 (both panels). I will resend this later today, or do you want me to put it on the ftp site. If there are any further queries relating to my responses, then get back to me.
