I've had a quick chat with Defra about risk assessment in UKCIP II scenarios, it'll be interesting to see how this develops. Ref the deep freeze, this story was covered in a lot of the papers including the Metro, the Times and Guardian. Again I 've been in touch with Defra about this and I think it's something we'll need to cover in some way in UKCIP II. The Wigley/Raper paper is in the post to you. The re-working of the IPCC diagram is my own and is *not* how the IPCC presented it. Saw the headline 'Britain Heading for a Big Freeze' in the evening paper in Glasgow. Is that really what we said? Oh dear. Mike
