There is a grocery/nick-nack store about a 5 minute walk from the main complex. 2) There are three dining facilities which we will be using. As a general rule two will serve western food and the third will have a choice of western or japanese. Special meals will only be served at one of them. If you are vegetarian or have allergies of any kind, please send the information to Sheila Lunter at the IGBP office (sheila@igbp.kva.se) 3) There are no bars anywhere on the complex. There are some 'sitting areas' with beer vending machines. In light of this, you may be interested to know that six bottles of wine per person can legally be imported into Japan. The official pages tax rate on such imports is at least one bottle of wine from your home country to be redistributed by the IPO staff during a PAGES social event at the congress (people from non wine producing countries will be asked to sing and dance). 4) There are no banking facilities at the center (no cash machines either). Therefore you need to change money at Narita airport at the latest. 5) The hotel costs and meals will be covered. Travel will be reimbursed from the PAGES office in the standard manner. If you need a travel advance, or are unable to receive your reimbursement as a bank transfer, contact Niklaus Schranz (schranz@pages.unibe.ch) 6) Local travel information and further program details have been added to the Congress webpage. http://www.igbp.kva.se/congress User name: congress Password: 65yada!
