Day 1 of the event explores the theoretical aspects of lobbying. It will focus upon the key co-decision procedure and lobbying best practice. Real-life case studies will be presented and a lobbying methodology will be provided to delegates. The afternoon will finish with a 3-course evening dinner with guest speaker Bill Newton Dunn MEP, who will explain, among other things, the do's and don'ts of lobbying with parliamentarians. On Day 2 delegates will have the opportunity to put into practice the theory and knowledge they have gained through the use of a real-life lobbying simulation exercise. There will also be a discussion with a member of the European Commission, who will discuss the practicalities of lobbying in the 2008-2009 political climate and explain how you should go about lobbying the European Commission.
